Vanaf 25 februari is zij te koop.
En Natuurlijk hebben wij haar gekregen via de club van Tiets

Mariska had een voorbeeld in 3d gemaakt waar ik helemaal enthousiast van werd.
Dus ik heb een poging gewaagd. De kleuren zijn iets te donker geworden en het fotograferen in een donkere kamer die helemaal vol staat met bouwmaterialen, helpt natuurlijk ook niet echt.

Ik weet nu het waarom mannen en vrouwen zo verschillend denken.

Mannen hebben namelijk doosjes in hun hoofd. Vrouwen een ingewikkeld netwerk van draden, die al dan niet emotioneel aan elkaar verbonden zijn. Die doosjes van mannen zijn allemaal gevuld met verschillende onderwerpen. Werk, vrouw, kinderen, schoonmoeder, hond, kat, sport etc. Doosjes die trouwens bij sommige mannen ook echt wel met draden aan elkaar verbonden zijn. Maar veel mannen halen, al naar gelang het onderwerp, het juiste doosje te voorschijn. Als bijvoorbeeld de schoonmoeder weer uit beeld is, wordt het doosje gesloten en ergens diep weer weggestopt. Het doosje komt vervolgens niet eerder weer tevoorschijn, dan strikt noodzakelijk is.

Mannen schijnen zelfs een doosje te hebben met helemaal niets erin. Een leeg doosje. Ik kan het eigenlijk niet geloven, maar mannen schijnen dus echt in staat te zijn om zelfs helemaal hun gedachten uit te schakelen. Hiervoor hoeven ze alleen maar dat lege doosje te pakken en die open te doen. Om jaloers op te worden. Ik heb echt geen behoefte om man te zijn. Maar wat zou ik ook graag zo’n leeg doosje willen hebben. Het lijkt me heerlijk.

Ik ben de afgelopen week aardig bezig geweest met het maken van kaarten.
De eerste is een kerstkaart, een bijzondere met veel bloemtjes, veertjes en pauwenstringen.
Niet alleen heb ik er een heel album van gemaakt maar ook nog voorzien van een mooi doosje waarin het veilig opgeborgen kan worden tot de komende kerst.

De roze kaart is een verjaardagskaart voor mijn schoonzus die komende week jarig is.

Nu is het weer de hoogste tijd dat ik aan het werk ga. Dus tot komende zaterdag blijven de papiertjes en bloemetjes gewoon in de kast.

Sometimes you find something that makes you happy.

Most everybody has a place

Mementos kept throughout the years,

Or precious, faded valentines.

A mother saves a baby's curl.
And ties it with a pretty bow.
Then wraps it carefully in velvet,
As if it were a piece of gold.

A yellowed glove recalls young love,
A tarnished medal, a hero dad,
A set of keys, a first new car,
A baby shoe, a little lad,

What's rich to me may be trash to you,
But I'll keep my treasures in my box.
And the things you value that I don't,
You'll keep secure and under lock.

Who determines what is treasure?
Who decides the scale to use?
How does one assess a value?
Which is richer - old or new?

There are those who rate an item,
By how much the object costs,
Which means it can be bought or sold,
And sentiment is long since lost.

Sometimes the value of a present
Is not based at all upon the gift,
But is judged wholly on the donor,
And not a bit on what it is.

The more somebody loves one,
The higher the value grows,
That's when a gift becomes a treasure,
And is placed within a box to hold.

Then this valued treasure box
Is put away on a dusty shelf,
In a cupboard or a closet,
In a safe place by itself.

But often such a box gets lost,
Over time, down through the years,
It's simply gone; it can't be found,
It has completely disappeared.

Rather than cry about one's loss,
It's time to recognize,

This morning a bread-bord fell down on my foot.

So I need to cool it down en lift my feet up.
My metatarsal bone is broken.

When the swelling is down, I am going to get a plaster.
So if you can't find me, I am on the couch, with a good book in my hand, a glass wine on the table, and my hubbie is serving me.

I needed to train for my walkingholiday in about 4 weeks time, but I am afraid I'm staying home this year.

But I am grateful that I didn't step in the broken glass.

Fluff up the pillows a bit,
Reverse the pads on the breakfast bar stools,
Tie them so they can't slip.

Get rid of the spoiled food in the fridge,
That cheese that's turned green needs to go,
And remove those odd smelling hotdogs,
Before that strange fungus grows.

Hide the T V remote where it's safe,
Tuck the bills out of sight in a drawer,
Make sure the cat is wearing her tags,
In case she gets out the door.

Make mental notes as to where things sit,
And which items belong in what space,
Concentrate on ORGANIZATION,
Remember, each thing has a place.

Once upon a time ...

Once upon a time there was a beautiful little butterfly who lived in a garden. He lived all by himself and had many flowers to visit each day. He took much pride in his flowers and made sure that each was looked after. He felt he was their guardian and fussed and worried over them.
When evening came, he would pick out a very large leaf and tuck himself in underneath it.. When it rained, it was very hard to keep dry. He had to find a very strong leaf that wouldn't bend when it got wet. Sometimes his wings would get wet and stick together.

When morning came, he would flit here and there and always started at the same end of the garden. He would select the part of the garden that was the farthest from the house. First the lilies, then the roses and all the flowers in between. Usually, when he finished that part of the garden, he always had a visitor. Sometimes, he was glad so he could rest beneath a leaf or shelter himself from the sun.

He recognized the visitor, as she always wore a hat. He could not really see her face, but he knew she loved the garden. She would spend an hour or two pulling up the many weeds; checking each row of flowers to see if they needed any special care. Once in a while he would see her glance his way and he would pull his wings up tighter.

He wished sometimes she wouldn't stay so long. There was much needed work to be done. When she turned her back, he would take a chance and fly out to visit a few flowers. There were some he really loved. When she turned his way, he would quickly settle underneath a leaf again.

One day as he was flitting from flower to flower, it became very dark. The wind became so strong he could hardly stay in the air. He fell to the ground just as it began to rain and he crawled under a leaf. His wings became very wet and were very heavy. He stayed there all that night, hoping by morning his wings would be dry.

When morning came he didn't come out as early as he usually did. He was tired from the night and being tilted on his side by the wetness, had exhausted him. As midmorning approached, he began to think of the flowers and knew he had to try to fly. His flowers needed him to take care of them! He slowly lifted his wings and moved them back and forth for a moment. When he felt he was ready, he spread them and flew up to a flower.

As he sat there, still moving his wings, he noticed the visitor. She was already in the garden and was much closer than usual. She was busy hammering a long pole into the ground and didn't seem to see him. Feeling unnoticed, he sat there and watched. Soon, she reached down and picked something up from the ground. It was very beautiful; a long box with pretty sunflowers and leaves painted on it. It had a small roof made of shingles. As he watched her hang the box on the pole, he noticed three small little slits in the side of it. All of a sudden he knew what it was! He had seen them in other gardens where his butterfly friends lived! He had been so envious when night drew near and his friends would disappear into the small openings. A butterfly house! He was to have a butterfly house!

After the box was hung, the visitor picked up her tools and turned to go. Just before leaving, she paused a moment, then glanced back at him and smiled.

and love is what I yearn.

when troubled unaware.
I only know that I will want
someone to come and care.

I do not know how I can help
if one is in distress.
I only know I will be there
to try to do my best.

I do not know who'll come to me
and need a helping hand.
I only know how I respond
will measure who I am.

I do not know whose life I'll touch,
how affected they will be.
I only know the ones I meet
will also affect me.

I do not know the time that's left,
I do not have a hint.
I only know the time I've had
and that's already spent.

I do not know the distance
or how long my trip will last.
I only know to forge ahead
and not live in the past.

I do not know within myself
if there will be tomorrow.
